About Us

Nature doesn't rush. Neither do we.

We’re Yumi (Japan) and Steven (South Africa),
raising our daughter and living with our rescue dog Luffy on a small island in Kagoshima, southern Japan.

We moved here to build a slower, more intentional life.

We now live in a 65-year-old traditional home, learning everything as we go—
from DIY renovations to beekeeping and growing vegetables using natural farming methods.

Life here is very different from the city we once knew.
It’s not always easy, but it has brought us closer to the rhythm of nature and the changing seasons.

Through INAKA VIBES,
we share the honest version of this life—
the beautiful moments, and the challenging ones too.
